Topic: AVP Master Server

I believe i've discovered the solution to AVP2's no multiplayer. As most of you know i'm sure, Sierra took down the master server which enabled you to play multiplayer games. Well, it appears Lithfaq ( a website from lithtech I assume) is picking up where Sierra left off.

In the following website you can download a server mod which will let you play online again. I have not tested it personally yet, but I don't doubt it's functionality.

(Edit: If it doesn't work at first, here is some more info you should know. 1.096 needs to be installed before you install the mod. After you install the mod check if it's working by trying to play multiplayer. If it DOES NOT WORK (version checking process fails, long wait at the first screen) you need to start up AVP2.EXE, then you need to click OPTIONS in the startup window.

In the COMMAND LINE you need to type this (exactly as shown):

-rez avp2p5.rez


If it still does not work, I suggest heading to the lithfaq forums and asking in person. Hope to see some of you guys online  default/smile .)

Unfortunately I still haven't been able to get it to work for me.

I don't have AVP so I can't try it either default/tongue.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving probaly isn't for you.

try messaging opti, who is either "opti pie" or "Mr. sensability" on the forums as i have seen him play on xfire. if you do get it working i shall have to reinstall the game to play online for a change XD

Are there other people playing? If so I might go take my brothers copy and install it  default/tongue.

Yeah there are actually quite a few people playing. I hope you guys aren't picky about servers though, most of them have crappy rules, no weapon bans, and every noob and their dog staggers.

Still fun nonetheless.
